Hi can anyone advise why I am experiencing drop off in connectivity for the above plotter installed on a small office network.
The plotter installs of from the driver then once the machine goes into power saving mode is no longer picked up or discovered on the network, my only get around is to reinstall the printer continuously
What I'm left with is a greyed out printer in the printer and devices control centre
Running windows 7 pro
Thanks

Hello, thanks for getting in touch.

It sounds as though your router may be releasing your printer's IP address whenever it goes into sleep mode.  This can be a fairly common issue when not using fixed IP addresses.

The best way to stop this happening is to assign your printer a fixed IP address and your problem should disappear altogether...

Step 1 - Decide on a fixed IP address for your printer
Step 2 - Register this IP address on the printer using the printer's control panel (see below)
Step 3 - Re-install the printer driver on your PC using the fixed IP address
You can download a copy of the iPF750 User Manual from our Support section here and page 565 will show you how to set the IP address on the printer's control panel.
We hope this helps!

Kind regards,

The Total Imaging Support Team.

I've had some similar issues with the iPF8300 that we inherited...  Sometimes it just drops off the network and we have to re-install the drivers.

Will fixing the IP address work on our printer too??

Absolutely Sarah,

Fixing the IP address is a popular method of increasing the stability of all Canon large format devices on a network.

We'll be posting a video version of the guide shortly, so keep an eye on our learning centre for further details.

Kind regards,

The Total Imaging Team.
